You can just type it in rather than selecting it, directly into that cell. Use QTY or any other 3 character value of your choice.

SAP Gateway ODATA is not accepting Specical characters % #
Hi ,
I have material and Material description , when I am doing change operation for Material descriptions while passing special characters like % # in the material description, getting XML parsing error.
without XML Payload also tried passing directly via parameters throwing an error.
Please let me know how to handle the special characters in ODATA SAP.

Change in Cost Celement Category
We need your view on change in cost element category.
As per my understanding ,if you have dependent data(actual /or Plan data) on this cost.
Element for the fiscal year there is no way to change the category type until the next fiscal year This is to prevent inconsistency in the data for givent fiscal year.
1)The Option you have is creating a new analysis period(Menu path : ka02>edit>analysis period).The new analysis period can only be specified in yearly intervals.The new analysis period can have the new cost element category.
2) The other option to change the cost element type is to delete all actual posting on this cost element.Notes 37093 & 38955 that explain how to delete cost elements where there is dependent data. In this we need to delete the data from table COEP,COKB,COSP And then COKA(This process we did one of the our client).

White or blank screen in MSS-> General Information
Hi All,
When I am trying to open MSS-> General Information, popup is opening with blank/white screen.
I tried to check the logs in NWA and ST22 , but there are no logs captured.
also tried in personalization cleanup.. but nothing is there to clean. Also I tried to open as administrator in pcd content by clicking on the preview. There also it is showing blank or white screen.
Can you please throw some hints/points or solution for this issue. Thank you.

It also might be possible some PCD inconsistency which would have lead to this error.
Hence I would advice you to run a PCD Inconsistency check and see if any inconsistencies are there in the PCD or not.
You can follow the below note numbers :
2225655 - For SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3x and higher
1086644 - For SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0x versions
If any inconsistencies are found the note have steps to clear them as well, kindly follow that also.

Will it be feasible for you if you create a Query Level filter on Universe and Bex Query saying Select Object from another Query and select Material No from Excel Query for Material No of Bex and universe Query Filter Object.
In that way only the material number that are coming Excel will come on your BEx and Universe Query.

Related opportunities vs Opportunity Hierarchy
Hello pros,
I have several questions about the difference between Related opportunities and Opportunity Hierarchy:
1. What is the business use of Related opportunities?
As far as I understand, Opportunty Hierarchy is used to offer multple products during different time frames of of one project (which is common in construction business). But what is the business use of Related opportunities then?
2. How do Related opportunities behave in reporting? Opportunity Hierarchy allows to make reports based on only child or only parent opportunities. Do Related Opportunities have the same functionality?
3. Is there an autofill functionality for new opportunities made through Opportunity Hierarchy alike with Related Opportunities?
